Op het Internationaal Psycho-Oncologie Congres van 2016 (IPOS) werden een heel aantal onderzoeksprojecten voorgesteld van over de hele wereld met betrekking tot de psychosociale oncologie. Ook het CHi stelde haar onderzoek over de professionele levenskwaliteit bij Vlaamse zorgverleners in de oncologie voor.

In deze studie wilden we onderzoeken wat de effecten van cognitieve gedragstherapie bij insomnia (CGT-i) bij oncologische patiënten op slaap, levenskwaliteit, emotioneel welzijn en hopeloosheid. Insomnia kent een hoge prevalentie bij oncologische patiënten en klachten kunnen soms jaren aanslepen. Uit eerder onderzoek bleek al dat een slechte slaap geassocieerd was met een lagere levenskwaliteit en meer gevoelens van angst, depressie en hopeloosheid. CGT-i blijkt een goed alternatief voor slaapmedicatie in de behandeling van insomnia, ook bij oncologische patiënten.
Studies suggest that American Muslim women underutilize mammography. While religion has a strong influence upon Muslim health behaviors, scant research has examined how religion-related beliefs inform Muslim women's intention for mammography. Our study identifies and examines such beliefs.

Bladder cancer is a genitourinary disease of increasing incidence. Despite improvements in treatment, outcomes remain equivocal with high recurrence rates. It is associated with poor psychosocial outcomes due to reduced functioning of the genitourinary system. The objective of these analyses was to query whether reported loss of function or the perception of psychological burden caused by this functional impedance was the key to understanding psychosocial outcomes.
The aim of the present study is to explore patient's perspectives in pediatric oncology on participation in discussions and decision-making surrounding their cancer diagnosis.
Methods
Seventeen patients between 9 and 17 years of age receiving treatment at centers of the Swiss Pediatric Oncology Group were interviewed for this study. Their interview data was analyzed qualitatively to identify themes with regard to participation in medical communication and/or decision-making.
