Objective: Our aim was to expand research on predictors of health-related quality of life (HRQOL) for adolescent and young adult survivors of childhood brain tumors who are not living independently by
evaluating the mediating role of family functioning in the association of disease severity/treatment late effects with survivor self-report and caregiver-proxy report of physical and emotional HRQOL.

Tijdens mijn job in de bijzondere jeugdzorg was parentificatie voorspelbaar aanwezig. Ik had echter niet verwacht om binnen de setting ‘oncologie en palliatieve zorgen’ parentificatie in die mate te ontdekken. Het Kankermeldpunt van Kom op tegen Kanker bestaat intussen iets langer dan een jaar. Het resultaat van een jaar lang leren van (ex-) kankerpatiënten en hun naasten, campagne voeren en beleidswerk werd gebundeld in een eerste jaarrapport.
