Algemene informatie over de diensten die Familiehulp, al dan niet in samenwerking met een partnerorganisatie, aanbiedt aan kankerpatiënten en hun naasten.

Kom op tegen Kanker maakte een overzicht van sociale voorzieningen voor kankerpatiënten. Kankerpatiënten hebben recht op allerlei tussenkomsten. Sommige worden automatisch uitgekeerd, maar het merendeel moet worden aangevraagd. In het overzicht worden volgende zaken opgenomen:

There have been very few population-based prospective studies that have investigated the risks of deaths by suicide and other externally caused injuries (ECIs) among cancer patients in an Asian population. Methods: Patients with rectal cancer diagnosed from 2000 to 2009, as registered in the population-based Eindhoven Cancer Registry, received a questionnaire on quality of life (QOL; EORTC QLQ-C30), disease-specific health status (EORTC QLQ-CR38), depression and anxiety (HADS), illness perceptions (Brief Illness Perception Questionnaire), and health care utilization; 76% (n = 1019) responded.

Self-injury, a manifestation of severe psychological distress, is increased in cancer-bereaved youths. Little is known about the potential influence on the risk for self-injury of factors that could be clinically relevant to and modifiable by the health-care professionals involved in the care of the dying parent.
