Psychologische interventies

Artikel: 'Psychological, behavioral, and immune changes after a psychological intervention: A clinical trial'

Abstract: This randomized clinical trial tests the hypothesis that a psychological intervention can reduce emotional distress, improve health behaviors and dose-intensity, and enhance immune responses.

Artikel: 'Psychoeducational interventions with pediatric cancer patients: Part II. Effects of information and skills training on health-related outcomes.'

Abstract: In Part I of this paper, we described a model that was used as a framework for reviewing studies of psychoeducational interventions intended to influence illnessand treatment-related behaviors and attitudes in pediatric cancer patients. In Part II, we distinguish between interventions that attempt to influence patients’ behaviors just by providing information and interventions that specifically teach skills related to the behaviors they are trying to change.

Artikel: 'objective cancer-related variables are not associated with depressive symptoms in women treated for early- stage breast cancer.'

Abstract: Women with breast cancer are thought to be vulnerable to depression for reasons associated with impact of diagnosis, treatment, and metabolic/endocrine changes. While the literature shows that most of these women do not become clinically depressed, 15% to 30% report elevated depressive symptoms that may be clinically important. The purpose was to identify and determine the relative importance of predictors of depressive symptoms in women treated for early-stage breast cancer.

Partners empowered: a couple-based intervention for newly diagnosed cancer

Artikel: Barriers to mental health service use and preferences for addressing emotional concerns among lung cancer patients

Abstract: This study examined barriers to mental health service use and preferences for addressing emotional concerns among lung cancer patients (N = 165) at two medical centers in the Midwestern United States.

Methods: Lung cancer patients completed an assessment of anxiety and depressive symptoms, mental health service use, barriers to using these services, and preferences for addressing emotional concerns.

Artikel: Dyadic effects of coping strategies on emotional state and quality of life in prostate cancer patients and their spouses

Abstract: During cancer, coping strategies adopted by patients with prostate cancer and their spouses have an effect on their own emotional state and quality of life (QoL). However, the effects of coping strategies used by a member of a couple on the well-being of the other member are unknown. The aim of this study is to examine the dyadic effects of coping strategies on the emotional state and QoL of couples dealing with cancer.

Artikel: How language affects peer responsiveness in an online cancer support group: implications for treatment design and facilitation

Abstract:Little is known about how positive group interactions develop in online support groups. Previous research suggests that message content, self-disclosure, and emotional expression may be central to this process. The purpose of this study was to identify linguistic and qualitative character- istics of participants’ messages that predict how other participants respond in an asynchronous dis- cussion board for cancer-related distress.

Review: A systematic review of spousal couple-based intervention studies for couples coping with cancer: direction for the development of interventions

Abstract: With the research focus on family caregiving shifting from the individual to the dyadic level, it is suggested that the caregiver-patient dyad as a unit be the focus and direction of caregiving interventions for families coping with cancer. The objectives in conducting this review were to explore the existing interventions for spousal couples coping with cancer in terms of type of intervention, contents, approach, and outcome measurements; and to identify directions for the development of interventions.

Review: A systematic review on patient-reported outcomes in cancer survivors of randomised clinical trials: direction for future research

Abstract: With increasing expectations of a 5-year survival rate among cancer patients, there is grow- ing interest in patient-reported outcome (PRO) measures, particularly measures of health-related quality of life (HRQOL) in cancer practice. The purpose of this review was to explore the existing interventions for patients coping with cancer in terms of intervention type, PRO measurements and outcomes; and to identify directions for future research.
