BACKGROUND: Fear of cancer recurrence (FCR) has a profound negative impact on quality of life (QOL) for many cancer survivors.
Breast cancersurvivors (BCS) are particularly vulnerable, with up to 70% reporting clinically significant FCR. To the authors’ knowl-
edge, evidence-based interventions for managing FCR are limited. Acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) promotes psychological
flexibility in managing life’s stressors. The current study examined the feasibility and preliminary efficacy of group-based ACT for FCR
in BCS.

Er is nog veel onbekend over het Zwarte Gat na kanker. Hoe vaak komt het voor? Hoe kun je voorkomen dat je er in terecht komt? Hoe kun je er weer uit komen? Hoe kun je iemand goed begeleiden? Het Zwarte Gat na kanker verdient het om meer aandacht te krijgen.
The ACTIVATE Trial examined the efficacy of a wearable‐based intervention to increase physical activity and reduce sedentary behavior in breast cancer survivors. This paper examines the effects of the intervention on health‐related quality of life (HRQoL) and fatigue at 12 weeks (T2; end of intervention) and 24 weeks (T3; follow‐up).
As survival rates of childhood cancer patientsimproved throughout the last decades, long-term sequelae after treatment became an important area of research. Given that childhood cancer treatments differ according to the specific diagnosis, age at diagnosis, response to treatment, etc., they can result in very different long-term outcomes and symptoms. One of the potential side effects includes neurocognitive impairment.
